fire 03:18
I have a friend named desire I have a friend named shame I threw them all in the fire I threw them all in the flame the fire burned through their bodies and burned them down to the bone but their faces are singed in my head like statues made of stone and I can’t get them out of my brain I can’t get them out of my brain but I keep on seeing them again and again I have nothing to cling to I have nothing at all I have nothing to cling to but it feels so good to fall I have a friend named desire I have a friend named shame I have a friend named misery I have a friend named pain I never want to see them again I never want to see them again some of them may die in anger the other ones will die in vain

I lost feeling I lost hope I found comfort I found comfort a new truth a new pain tell me gently tell me gently a new city a new life you found comfort you found comfort a lost vision a lost love leave me gently leave me gently there are right ways and wrong ways that can lead you to success or death and everything in between isn’t really worth writing home about I found ways to excite me I found ways to be seen I found ways to enjoy myself I think you know what I mean you found ways to ignore me you found ways to numb pain you found ways to always look different and always stay the same there are right ways and wrong ways that can make you feel good or bad and everything in between isn’t really worth feeling at all I found ways to feel happy I found ways to feel shame I found ways to forget myself I’ve found ways to change I lost touch I lost time we’ll drift away outside of our minds a lost moment from years ago do you remember please remember

about

if you buy the album on here and would like a physical copy of the tape, please send me an email with your request.

Some instrumental material (interludes, introduction/ending) have been cut for the online version in order to make it more accessible. The tape plays as almost 26 minutes of uninterrupted music with no cuts or pauses between songs. This is how it was recorded and how I (try to) play it live. I highly recommend listening to the tape in its full length version rather than the cut up version you see on this website.
